FIRST CIRCULAR
Dear colleagues and friends,
We are delighted to announce that the international EuroSpeleo Forum, the leading European event for speleology, will this year for the first time take place in Croatia. The 18th EuroSpeleo Forum and Meeting of Croatian Speleologists will be held from November 13 to 15, 2026, in Pazin, Istria.
The conference is organized by the Istrian Speleological Society (SDI, Pazin), the Speleological Society Estavela (SUE Kastav), Speleological Society Velebit (SOV Zagreb), the Ursus spelaeus Speleological Society (SKUS, Karlovac), and the Speleological Society Karlovac (SDK, Karlovac). The event is supported by the Croatian Speleological Federation (HSS), the Speleological Commission of the Croatian Mountaineering Federation (KSHPS), the European Speleological Federation (FSE), and the City of Pazin.
The Istrian region lies in the northern Croatian Adriatic, easily accessible from across Europe, and is known for its karst landscapes and its long tradition of speleological research, dating back to the beginnings of modern European speleology. The EuroSpeleo Forum and the Croatian Speleologists Meeting are two events in one, attracting hundreds of speleologists, speleology enthusiasts, and nature lovers from across Croatia and Europe. The event aims to bring together researchers, scientists, and enthusiasts to exchange experiences, present new research findings, strengthen cooperation between European speleological associations and clubs, disseminate knowledge, develop standards, and establish common codes of ethics and technical standards for the exploration and protection of cave finds.
By participating in MUNDUS SPELAEUS, you will become part of a unique speleological community. Pre-registration is online. By paying the participation fee, you secure your goodie bag, two hot meals, indoor group accommodation (mass lodging), and admission to the live music party. At the same time, you support the organization of this unique event.
